Enschede gaat niet door…

ENSCHEDE –Het concert van Kane, DI-RECT en Leaf op donderdag 4 september op het Van Heekplein is afgelast. Dat heeft organisator Enschede City of Events donderdag besloten. Wat een vernieuwend concept leek om de Enschedese binnenstad eens flink op de kaart te zetten, bleek te hoog gegrepen. De voorverkoop van de kaarten ging niet hard genoeg en de organisatie durfde niet te hopen op een massale toestroom van mensen die nog vlak vóór het concert een entreeticket zouden kopen.
Jammer voor de vele fans van de drie topbands die al een ticket hadden gekocht. Zij kunnen de kaartjes weer inleveren en krijgen hun geld terug. Dat gebeurt via het verkooppunt waar de mensen de tickets gekocht hebben. Wie via www.enschedepleinconcerten.nl besteld heeft, krijgt automatisch het geld terug. Wie een gratis entreeticket had gewonnen, kan de kaartjes verscheuren.
De voortekenen waren nog zo goed. De website www.enschedepleinconcerten.nl werd goed bezocht, de pleinconcertenhyve had leden vergaard en zelfs de Duitse zender WDR wilde aandacht besteden aan het evenement. Ook werden gratis entreekaarten weggeven aan studenten die zich tijdens de introductieweek inschreven bij een studentenuitzendbureau. De kaarten waren in no time vergeven vanwege het enthousiasme van de studenten. Helaas voor de Stichting Enschede Pleinconcerten is het avontuur voorbij. De gratis tickets waren in trek, maar de voorverkoop verliep te stroef.

Gig cancelled

ENSCHEDE –The concert that headlined Dutch bands Kane, DI-RECT and Leaf that was planned on Thurday the 4th of September on the Van Heekplein in Enschede, The Netherlands has been cancelled. (…) Very unfortunate for the fans of the three Dutch bands who’d already bought tickets and were eager to see their favourite band(s) perform live. They’ll get a chance to return their tickets and get full money back garantee. For those who bought tickets on www.enschedepleinconcerten.nl tickets will be refunded automaticly. And for those who won tickets, they are of no use and can be destroyed.

Do van KaneFansiteBelgium was er zaterdag bij in Woerden en het was weer een geweldige gig! Ook Dinand was er heel tevreden over en zei dat het meer dan de moeite waard was om 13u vertraging te hebben met de vlieger (jaah hij kwam terug van Ibiza) en in Woerden te spelen! Do laat weten dat ‘ik vond het natuurlijk ook de moeite waard om hiervoor enkele uurtjes te rijden ;-)’

Na een overvol en succesvol 2008 sluit KANE dit jaar in stijl af met een officiële EVERYTHINGYOUWANT tour.
Tijdens de EVERYTHINGYOUWANT tour zal KANE in totaal 10 shows in Nederland en België geven. Op 6 november wordt de spits afgebeten in 'WATT' Rotterdam. De afsluiting van de tour zal plaatsvinden in de grootste intieme club van Nederland, De Heineken Music Hall.

KANE's nieuwe album 'EVERYTHINGYOUWANT ' is al onderscheiden met een Gouden Plaat en dendert nu door naar een Platina onderscheiding. Eerder dit jaar gaf KANE een concert in de Kuip dat een daverend succes was. De try-out tour voorafgaand aan het concert in de Kuip was binnen no-time uitverkocht. De aankomende weken zal KANE nog op verscheidene festivals te zien zijn en in het najaar staan de release van de nieuwste single en de DVD van KANE in de Kuip op het programma.

KANE's niew album 'EVERYTHINGYOUWANT ' went Gold and is heading for a Platinum award. Last June KANE performed at a sold out the De Kuip venue. Their try-out tour in light of the De Kuip concert sold out in a matter of minutes. The next couple of weeks KANE will perform on several festivals. After that the release of the new single and DVD of KANE in de Kuip is on the agenda.

The guys from KANE had a bussy time at the Marktrock festival in Belgium. Not only was their mission to make the crowd go wild, they also had a few interviews on the agenda. Marktrock report

Tijdens Marktrock kregen we al een ‘hey kijken naar Marktrock report op TMF’ van vj Sean en vanavond wisten we waarom: Sean had een interview met Dinand en Dennis van KANE over of er een verschil is tussen festivals in Belgie en Nederland, de kids en de familie, het EVERYTHINGYOUWANT album, dEUS, en de toekomst. Fijn gesprek was dat! En nadien krijgt de TMF kijker ook nog een mooie Shot of a gun en Rain down on me (de lekker lange versie) live vanop het Marktrock podium! Wie Marktrock report op TMF heeft gemist vanavond kan het nog een keer bekijken en wel morgen vrijdag om 0u30 en zaterdag om 21u!!!

JFK Greatest Man Award…

Het Nederlandse JFK magazine heeft 11 spraakmakende Bekende Nederlanders genomineerd voor de JFK GREATEST MAN AWARD 2008. Het is een lijst met mannen die volgens JFK en de vakjury stijlvol, succesvol, creatief, ondeugend, getalenteerd en avontuurlijk zijn en daarnaast ook nog in het bezit zijn van lef, humor en doorzettingsvermogen. Tussen de genomineerden van dit jaar vinden we ook Dinand terug en die word alsvolgt omschreven:
De zanger van Kane was de afgelopen maanden overal. In JFK, op abri's, op TV, in de Kuip, in zijn eigen blad Dinand, weer op TV en op de radio. Alleen in de binnenlanden van Afrika weten twee Masai nog niet dat Kane terug is met een nieuwe CD. Verder is er waarschijnlijk niemand op aarde te vinden die dat niet weet. Dinand is genomineerd als Great Man en terecht. Want geen popartiest in Nederland met zoveel uitstraling en zoveel ambities. Het is mooi dat er in dit land waarin 'gewoon doen' de norm is een Dinand bestaat.

Vanaf vandaag kan je via de site van Het Depot tickets bestellen voor het KANE concert van 11 november in Leuven. En dat ze in Leuven blij zijn met de komst van KANE dat lees je op hun website: "Kane is larger than life in Nederland. De hardst werkende band bij onze Noorderburen wordt terecht op handen gedragen door hun trouwe fans. Eind juni nog verkocht Kane het Rotterdams Kuip stadion uit. Met hun nieuw album ‘Everything You Want’ mikt Kane nu definitief op het buitenland. De Amerikaanse productie maakt dat de plaat stevig klinkt. And it looks like they are very happy to have KANE on stage as we can read on the website of the venue: Kane is larger than life in The Netherlands. TOURDATES België…

In een gesprek met Dinand en Dennis dat we hadden na afloop van hun set op Marktrock vertelden ze onder andere dat ze op 8 November in Het Depot in Leuven spelen en op 11 November in De Vooruit in Gent staan. Een derde concert in België staat ook op de agenda, meer hierover lees je op onze website later.

KANE in Belgium

After their concert last Saturday we had a chance to talk to Dinand and Dennis and they mentioned that they’ll return to Belgium for some concerts in November, to be more specific they’ll perform on the 8th of November at Het Depot in Leuven and on the 11th of November at De Vooruit in Gent. Hot in the city…

En de ladies zijn weer terug van een gezellig weekendje Leuven. Marktrock stond weer op de agenda dit jaar en het was een mooie editie. ‘Back to the roots’ kondigde de organisatie aan en dat is volgens ons helemaal gelukt… Ook dit jaar te vinden tussen de line-up van Zaterdag 9 augustus: KANE. En dat was voor ons een extra reden om blij rond te lopen in de Leuvense binnenstad. Die Zaterdag liepen we rond de middag Bart de Marktrock blogger tegen het lijf die net een interview met Dinand en Dennis opgenomen had, en hij vertelde ons dat de heren er ongelooflijk veel zin in hadden! Wat er nog meer verteld werd tijdens het interview kan je lezen op deze pagina . Een paar uur later werd het drukker op de Oude markt en sprong Dave Peeters, vertaler-tolk van de dag, het podium op om - in stijl *kuch* - KANE het podium op te roepen… de lekkere remix beloofde veel en de mannen knalde lekker door met Yeah Yeah Yeah gevolgd door nummers als Something to Say, Everything You Want, Shot Of A Gun, R.E.A.L, Rain Down on me en Fearless. Springen, meezingen, dansen, lachen, handje zwaaien en genieten daar op de Oude markt. Maar deze setlist viel echt wat te kort uit voor ons en wij en de rest van de Oude markt maakten duidelijk dat we veel meer verdienden. En dan krijg je een piepje en een piepje en gaat D. wat hijgen en zingen we samen Catwalk Criminal, alsjeblieft dankjewel! En hang on…All Day and All Of The Night - omdat die zo lekker is - moet Leuven ook nog ff horen… meer dan dankjewel D. You know we like it! Marktrock festival - review

And the ladies return home after a cozy weekend in Leuven. The Marktrock festival was again on our agenda and this year it was a great edition. We‘ll be going ‘Back to the roots’ the festival organisers told everyone in advance to the festival and they did a great job if you ask us… This year we noticed a well known (for us that is) name amongs the line-up on Saturday: KANE. One more reason to walk around with a sime during the festival for us! That Saturday we met up with Bart who was bussy blogging on what was going on during the festival and he told us he’d just been interviewing Dinand and Dennis from KANE. Great fun he had and mentioned us the guys we’re really looking forward to perform on the festival. The full interview (in Dutch but we’ll put up a translation soon) can be found on this page . A few hours later the crowd got larger in front of the main stage and presentor Dave Peeters, interpretor for the day, climbed on stage and announced KANE… the full set list you can find above Jumping, sing-alongs, dancing, smiling, going hello to the guys on stage and enjoying every minute of it that‘s what we and so many people with us. Dennis zag dat het goed was

Gelezen op de site van het Haags Pop Podium: Drie Nederlandse bands die zijn samengesteld uit muzikanten die meedoen aan het televisieprogramma Rock Nation hebben gisteravond opgetreden in de Haagse binnenstad. De muzikanten hadden een dag van te voren de opdracht gekregen een set met covers in te studeren. Gistermiddag bleek dat ze ook een podium moesten vinden om op te treden. De drie groepen wisten gigs te regelen in de Haagse cafés De Paap, Paard van Troje en Zwarte Ruiter. Van de concerten werden filmopnamen gemaakt door RTL5, die het programma Rock Nation in het najaar uitzendt.
De optredens werden bekeken door verschillende bekende muzikanten, zoals Dennis van Leeuwen van Kane, Tjeerd Bomhof van Voicst, Annemarie Brohm van Leaf en de bandleden Bas, Jamie en Spike van Di-rect. Ook de bedenker van het programma - de Haagse artiestenmanger Edwin Jansen - en presentator Dennis Weening waren bij alle shows aanwezig.

read on the website of Haags Pop Podium: Three Dutch bands that consist of artists who attend the New Dutch tv program Rock Nation performd last night in the Hague. The artists had to bring a full set of covers for a team of judges. Yesterday they heared they had to find a stage them selves to perform on. The three bands succeeded their task and played live on three stages in The Hague: at café De Paap, Paard van Troje and Zwarte Ruiter. Footage of the performances will be shown on Dutch tv channel RTL5 in the program Rock Nation in the fall.
The performances were watched by some fameous musicians likeDennis van Leeuwen of the band Kane, Tjeerd Bomhof of the band Voicst, Annemarie Brohm of the band Leaf and Bas, Jamie en Spike of the band Di-rect. The man behind the show - artist manager Edwin Jansen - and presentor Dennis Weening also attended the performances.

Do van KaneFansiteBelgium roept iedereen op om op KANE te stemmen voor de Win for life TMF Awards die op 11 oktober 2008 zullen plaatsvinden in het Sportpaleis te Antwerpen. All day and all of the night…

Gisteren was KANE te gast in het Donna city café op de markt van Roeselare voor een interview en een akoestische set. Het stond niet echt in de planning van sommigen maar het werd wel een gezellige hallo/fototje/hey Nico!/samen zingen middag. Meer foto‘s en filmpjes van het KANE bezoek aan het Donna City Café kan je in de loop van volgende week hier terugvinden! Met dank aan KaneFansiteBelgium, Esther en Debora.
Ook gisteren maar een paar kilometer en uurtjes verder stonden D. en de zijnen op het podium van de Lokerse feesten. Het was een lekkere zomeravond in Lokeren maar op het podium en de eerste rijen daarvoor werd het gewoon zwoel al na van de allereerste noot. Lokeren kreeg een lekkere R.E.A.L als opener, meteen gevolgd door Yeah Yeah Yeah en de nummers Damn those eyes, Rain down on me, everythingyouwant, wanna make it happen, Go (met stukje dreamer), Fearless en de toegift All day and all of the night (waaaaaaaaaanzinnig lekker!) en London Calling. Het zat muzikaal niet altijd even ok maar de sfeer op en voor het podium zat er dik in. Conclusie: Op wat haarverlies na (Jezus dat was schrikken) krijgt die lekkere zomeravond met KANE in Lokeren een dikke 9 op 10 van ons… Foto‘s van de set van KANE op de Lokerse feesten kan je nu al op deze site, terugvinden en in de loop van volgende week ook hier nog een aantal terugvinden! Hallo Lokereuhhhh!!!

Yesterday KANE attended the Donna city café in Roeselare, Belgium. Although it wasn’t on the agenda for some it still was a cozy get together with a nice interview and ‘Rain down on me’ and ‘Shot of a gun’ live! More pictures and a little filmp from the visit at the Donna City Café you will find on our wensite from next week on! We like to thankKaneFansiteBelgium, Esther and Debora for that.
A few hours later and a few milles further the guys had another thing to do on the agenda: playing at the Lokerse feesten festival in Belgium. It was a hot summer evening in Lokeren but on stage and on the front row it really heated up from the very first tune. The crowd got a very sassy version of R.E.A.L to start things off with, following with Yeah Yeah Yeah and the tracks Damn those eyes, Rain down on me, everythingyouwant, wanna make it happen, Go (with that piece of dreamer in it), Fearless and extra’s All day and all of the night (soooooooooooo damn goooooood!) and London Calling. Things didn’t go smouthly with ther sound from time to time but the crowd and the band had the time of their life. To sum things up: aside from a few hairs lost (Jesus what where you thinking D.?) that summer night with KANE in Lokeren deserves a 9 out of 10 from us… Pictures taken during the KANE concert at the Lokerse feesten festival you will find on this site and on our site some extra pictures from next week on as well!
