KANE komt naar België… en dat is geweten! Zowel de Vooruit als het Depot zijn bijna volledig uitverkocht. Niet meer twijfelen en gewoon je ticket voor KANE in huis halen zeggen wij dan. Of nog beter winnen want we kregen gisteren van Elke de tip dat via de website van MTV noise tickets voor het Depot concert op 11 november te winnen zijn… ff makkelijk vraagje beantwoorden en misschien sta jij wel in Leuven op de eerste rij bij KANE!

Volgende maand staat Kane op een aantal Belgische podia - check onze tourdates pagina voor de data. De Showbizz site had met Dennis en Dinand een gesprek bij de Win For Life TMF Awards en hadden het onder andere over hun meest recente album én de concerten die in aantocht zijn. Ondertussen staan ook foto’s van hun optreden én van de meet & greet met winnares Els De Groote online op de showbizz site… Het interview en de foto’s met Els kan je vinden via deze pagina…

Op de site van het mediazine Cutting Edge lezen we:
Kane is larger than life in Nederland. De hardst werkende band bij onze noorderburen wordt terecht op handen gedragen door hun trouwe fans. Op de site van het NPI vinden we het volgende: Face Culture sprak tijdens 50 jaar Nederpop Live met Andy Tielman, gitarist van de legendarische Tielman Brothers. Vijftig jaar geleden debuteerden zij met de single 'Rock Little Baby Of Mine', het startschot van de Nederlandse popmuziek.

STEREO opent show KANE in HMH!

Op de myspace blog van het Nederlandse reality programma Rock Nation lezen we: De laatste 10 Rock Nation muzikanten hebben er enkele weken over na kunnen denken en hebben honderden namen de revue laten passeren. Uiteindelijk zijn ze er toch uitgekomen en is "STEREO" gekozen als naam voor de band die zal voortkomen uit het RTL 5 programma Rock Nation. In de aflevering van aanstaande zondag zal dit bekend gemaakt worden.
In de uitzending van afgelopen zondag werd al duidelijk dat de definitieve band, of liever gezegd "STEREO", de show van KANE in de Heineken Music Hall op 30 november zal openen. Dit goede nieuws werd met gejuich ontvangen…

On the myspace blog of Dutch reality show Rock Nation we can read this: The final 10 Rock Nation musicians needed a few weeks to compare names for their future band. They finaly made a decision and selected the name for the band which will be chosen out of the musicians in the RTL 5 reality show Rock Nation. The name was made public in the next episode of the show.
In the previous episode it was announced the band, we can now say "STEREO", will be support act for KANE at the Heineken Music Hall venue on the 30th of November. This awesome news was a reason for cheering and so the contestants did so…

JFK award & Evers!

Vanavond word tijdens een besloten ceremonie in de Passenger Terminal Amsterdam de JFK Greatest Man Award 2008 uitgereikt. Dinand maakt kans om de award te winnen… of dat ook zo het geval is lees je vanavond of morgen op deze site.
Morgen, Woensdag 15 oktober, zijn de mannen van KANE te gast in het radio 538 programma Evers Staat Op, zo staat te lezen op de 538 website. Het programma start om 6u s’ochtend en eindigd om 10u.

Best sweaty male

Het Vlaams media magazine de Rode Loper, was ook op de TMF Awards Zaterdag en presentatrice Katja Retsin, die vroeger (vrrrrrroeger) nog vj was bij TMF mocht de artiesten haar eigen award schenken… en Dinand die kreeg de awards voor Best Sweaty Male On Stage… en of hij daar blij mee was? Wij denken het wel want Katja kreeg meteen een sweaty kus van hem… lekker ;)
De Rode Loper net gemist kijk dan naar de herhaling vanavond op EEN vanaf 0u15 of check morgen de website van de Rode Loper om de uitzending van vanavond te (her)bekijken.

Award for Dinand!

Belgian media magazine de Rode Loper, also send out their reporter to the TMF Awards last Saturday. They send Katja Retsin, once a TMF vj to hand out her own special awards to some artists… and Dinand he got the awards for Best Sweaty Male On Stage… was he pleased with this award? We think so because Katja got a nice sweaty kiss from him… delish’ ;)

KANE @ TMF Awards

Zaterdag stond KANE op het podium in het Antwerpse Sportpaleis tijdens de Belgische TMF Awards show. Ze brachten Catwalk criminal en Shot of a gun.
Was je er Zaterdag niet bij of wil je de performance nog een keertje (her)bekijken check dan de TMF Awards website en de showbizz site voor foto‘s van Dinand en Dennis op de red carpet en in de green room.
Ook leuk om ff te bekijken is het interview dat Miss Erika van Thielen (we love you we dohoooo) backstage had met een zeer charmante Dinand en vrolijke Dennis…

Het is de derde keer dat Radio 538 een single uit het 'EVERYTHINGYOUWANT' album tot alarmschijf en dus meest gedraaide track van de week bombardeerd...

Wie of wat mag er niet ontbreken in de Canon van de Nederlandse Popmuziek? Peter Koelewijn met ‘Kom van dat dak af’, de Palingsound, ‘The Dutch Mountains’ van de Nits, gitaargod Jan Akkerman, de dood van Herman Brood of Tiësto als nummer 1 van de Wereld?
De stembussen zijn geopend! De zestig vensters moeten nu worden teruggebracht naar vijftig. Vijftig gebeurtenissen die het verhaal van de Nederpop vertellen. Te beginnen in 1958 toen de single Rock Little Baby Of Mine van The Tielman Brothers verscheen, het begin van de Nederpop. En een van deze gebeurtenissen is ‘2003 - KANE in de arena - De Haagse rockband Kane is de eerste Nederlandse band die op eigen kracht een voetbalstadion uitverkoopt. Het concert vindt plaats op 28 juni 2003 in de Amsterdam Arena (…)’. Dat krijgt van ons (en jullie natuurlijk) echt wel een stem!
De stemming is tot en met 24 november geopend. De uitslag zal begin 2009 bekend worden gemaakt, onder andere met een special in OOR en FRET Magazine.

Voting is open! The Dutch public can vote by using this website their favourite canon events and decide on what the 50 most important events in Dutch Nederpop or Dutch music history are. And finaly which event or moment was THE most special in a half a century of Nederpop. At the moment there’s a list of 60 events, composed by pop connoisseurs and by visitors of the 50jaarnederpop website who send in their suggestions throughout the year. This 60 events need to be turned into only 50. 50 events which tell the story of Dutch music or Nederpop. Starting in 1958 when the single Rock Little Baby Of Mine of The Tielman Brothers was released, the birth of Nederpop. And one of the events to be voted on is 2003 - KANE in de arena - Dutch rockband Kane is the first Dutch band who sells out a soccer stadium. The concert took place on the 28th of Juni 2003 at the Amsterdam Arena venue (…)’. No need to say this event gets ours (and ofcours yours) vote!
Votes are open until the 24th of November. The results will be made public early 2009 in a special edition of Dutch music magazines OOR and FRET.

Nu Zaterdag staan de grootste internationale sterren op het podium van de TMF Awards in het Antwerpse sportpaleis. En dit jaar is daar KANE ook bij!!
Heb je een kaartje dan kan je het live in en rond het sportpaleis van very close allemaal meemaken… Kan je er niet bij zijn - om wat voor reden dan ook - maar heb je wel internet, pc of laptop in je buurt surf dan Zaterdag vanaf 12u s’middags naar de TMF Awards site want daar krijg je als thuisblijver de kans om te chatten met alle artiesten die die avond in het sportpaleis aanwezig zijn, een paar exclusieve backstage en rode loper interviews én vanaf 19u gewoon een live-feed naar de Red Carpet Show en om 20u een live-feed naar de TMF Awards show! Maar ook gewoon tv kijken kan ook nog altijd; stem vanaf 12u s’middags af op TMF België voor de Very Important Chat met de artiesten van de Awards show of vanaf 16u voor een verslag van de TMF reporters aan het sportpaleis in de Live! For those who were able to get tickets you will get a chance to check out the action on stage and at the sportpaleis from up close… for those who can’t be part of the show - whatever the reason maybe - but still are able to get online check out the TMF Awards site from midday on Saturday as the artists who will perform that night will use the TMF chat from then on, you will also get a chance to view some very exclusive backstage and Red Carpet interviews and can enjoy a live-feed to the Red Carpet Show from 19h and a live-feed to the TMF Awards Show from 20h! But hanging in front of the tv is also an option; from midday the artists that will perform that night at the Awards show will use the chat and from 16h you will get a report from the mayhem at the sportpaleis venue in the Live! Awardsday show followed by the Red Carpet Show at 19h and the TMF Awards show at 20h.

Support acts Tour

In November gaat KANE’s EVERYTHINGYOUWANT Tour officieel van start. Samen met De Schiedamse 3-mans formatie Vegas For Millions en het populaire GEM zullen zij de Nederlandse popzalen onveilig maken."Twee verfrissende, talentvolle en coole bands waar we blij mee zijn; een waardevolle aanvulling op onze tour", aldus Dennis van Leeuwen.
Tijdens de kick-off op 6 November opent Vegas For Millions de show in de nieuwe Rotterdamse poptempel WATT. Daarnaast zal deze band ook op 13, 20 en 22 November te zien zijn als voorprogramma van KANE. De overige data van de tour, met uitzondering van de show in de Heineken Music Hall, worden ingevuld door GEM. Dat betekent dat GEM er op 8, 9, 11, 18, 23 en 29 November bij zal zijn. Het voorprogramma van KANE in de HMH op 30 November zal op een later tijdstip bekend worden gemaakt.Vegas For Millions is recent uitgekozen tot ‘3FM Serious Talent’ en hun eerste single ‘Worst Case Scenario’ wordt al volop op deze zender gedraaid. De release van de tweede single van het debuutalbum ‘Vegas For Millions’ staat voor dit najaar gepland. GEM heeft onlangs zijn tweede album ‘NEW’ uitgebracht. "Dit album betekent een doorstart van GEM waarbij we met de nieuwe band anders spelen, minder rock maar meer variatie in ritmes" aldus zanger Westerik.

Vegas for millions & GEM

In November KANE’s EVERYTHINGYOUWANT Tour will kick off. Along side bands like Vegas For Millions and the very popular GEM the band will cause for mayhem at the Dutch and Belgian venues."both are refreshing, talentful and cool bands off who we’re very pleased to share the stage with; a very valuable addition to our tour", according to Dennis van Leeuwen.
At the kick-off show on the 6th of November Vegas For Millions will open the show at the new WATT venue in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The band will also be opening act for KANE on the 13th, 20th and the 22th of November. All the remaining tourdates, with exception of the Heineken Music Hall, the band GEM will be opening act. Which means that GEM will get on stage on the 8th, 9th, 11th, 18th, 23th and the 29th of November. The opening act for KANE at the HMH venue on the 30th of November will be made public soon. Vegas For Millions has been chosen as ‘3FM Serious Talent’ and their first single ‘Worst Case Scenario’ is featured frequently on this radiostation. The release of the second single of their debutalbum ‘Vegas For Millions’ is planned for later this year. GEM just released their second album titled ‘NEW’. "this album stands for a New GEM on which we play a different vibe with a new band, less rock but more variety and ritme " so tells lead singer Westerik.

KANE cd én dvd

Gelezen op de website van het Haags Pop Podium: Volgende maand verschijnen tegelijkertijd twee nieuwe CD’s van de Haagse rockband Kane. Door een toevallige samenloop van omstandigheden verschijnen op 28 november zowel een compilatiealbum van Kane als een registratie van het concert dat de band in juni gaf in De Kuip in Rotterdam. Het concert zal ook op DVD verschijnen.
Het compilatiealbum ‘The Best Of Kane’ wordt uitgebracht door platenmaatschappij Sony/BMG dat de eerste drie albums van Kane uitbracht en daarvan meer dan 1 miljoen exemplaren verkocht. De concertregistratie wordt uitgebracht door platenmaatschappij Universal waarmee Kane een jaar geleden een nieuw platencontract sloot.
Ook voegt Gerard er aan toe dat Kane op woensdagochtend 15 oktober te gast is in het programma van Edwin Evers op radio 538.

Read on the website of Haags Pop Podium: Next month Kane will release not one but two albums. Both the compilation album ‘ The Best Of Kane’ and their cd/dvd of the De Kuip concert in Rotterdam will be released on the 28th of November.
The compilation album ‘The Best Of Kane’ is being released by record company Sony/BMG which released the previous kane albums and sold over more than 1 million copies. The De Kuip cd and dvd will be released by Universal record company who signed a contract with Kane just a year ago.
Gerard from Haags Pop Podium also adds that Kane will appear on Wednesday the 15th of October on the radioshow of Edwin Evers on Dutch radio 538.

Belgische première!

In het TMF programma Spankin’ New Videos werd net in Belgische première de nieuwe KANE clip ’It’s London Calling’ gebracht. Vj Stijn vertelde dat de clip opgenomen was in België en dat het een simpele clip geworden is die "wél werkt!"… mooi.
De band zal de nieuwe single ’It’s London Calling’ ook live brengen tijdens de TMF Awards die volgende week zaterdag, 11 oktober, in het Antwerpse sportpaleis zullen doorgaan. Wil je er ook bij zijn check dan de TMF Awards website hoe je aan tickets kan komen!

It’s London Calling in Belgium

Just now on the TMF show Spankin’ New Videos the new KANE video ‘It’s London calling’ was shown for the very first time on Belgian television. Vj Stijn told viewers the video was made in Belgium and the result was a very plain video but yet it "does the job perfectly"… nice one.

JFK Greatest Man Award…

Een paar maanden geleden vroegen we jullie om te stemmen voor de JFK GREATEST MAN AWARD 2008 van het Nederlandse JFK magazine. Tussen de genomineerden van dit jaar vonden we ook Dinand en oh boy er is massaal gestemd want volgens de peilingen op de JFK website behoort ‘onze’ Dinand sinds het begin van de stemming tot de favorieten top5... Nu de award nog ha!
De JFK Greatest Man Award 2008 word op Dinsdag 14 oktober tijdens een besloten ceremonie uitgereikt in de Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. Spannend! We duimen voor je Din ;)

Will Dinand win?

A few months ago we asked you guys to vote for the JFK GREATEST MAN AWARD 2008 - an award created by Dutch JFK magazine. Amongst the nominees this year we could also find Dinand and oh lord you guys have been voting because if we can trust the ratings on the JFK website ‘our’ Dinand received as soon as votings started a spot in their top5 favourite... Just hand over the awards why don’t you ha!

zangtalent over KANE’s nieuwe

Maurice Van Gestel van de Belgische mediasite zangtalent.be heeft KANE’s nieuwe single ’it’s london calling’ ontdekt en hoopt alvast op een mooie chart notering voor deze single: "Tijd voor een vierde release van het recente album van de Nederlandse band. Deze heet It's London Calling. Een redelijk rustig nummer wat ik best kan waarderen, ook al ben ik niet altijd zo'n fan van Kane's-muziek. Wat ik alleen niet begrijp is dat ze er dan zo'n ontiegelijk saaie en slaapverwekkende videoclip onder zetten. Maar ondanks dat een goed nummer, wat volgens mij makkelijk de Top 40 moet halen."

Maurice Van Gestel of Belgian mediasite zangtalent.be noticed KANE’s new single ’it’s london calling’ and hopes it’ll get a nice spot in the single chart: "Time for a fourth release from their recent album for the Dutch band. This one is called It's London Calling. A more calmly song which I really can appreciate, although I’m not a huge fan of the Kane-music. The one thing I don’t get is why they made such a boring and soporific video to the song. But never the less a great song, which will make it easily to the Top 40 chart I think."
