'Play the best song in the world, or I will eat your soul'. Wie worden dit jaar verkozen tot Duiveltjes van Nederland?
De Duiveltjes zijn jaarlijkse muziekprijzen van Muziek Centrum Nederland die dit jaar voor de zevende maal worden uitgereikt. Bijzonder is dat de prijswinnaars niet – zoals bij andere verkiezingen – worden gekozen door een jury of het publiek, maar door hun collega-muzikanten . Er zijn zes categorieën: zanger, gitarist, bassist, drummer, toetsenist en dj/producer. Wat dus betekend dat we op alle KANE heren - zowel Joost, Ivo, Dennis als Mr. D - kunnen stemmen!. De naam Duiveltje is een verwijzing naar de legende rondom bluesgitarist Robert Johnson, die op de 'crossroads' zijn ziel aan de duivel verkocht en zo de beste gitarist ter wereld werd.
Op de website www.popinstituut.nl/duiveltjes kunnen muzikanten aangeven wie zij hun beste collega's vinden. Iedereen mag slechts één keer stemmen. De stemming sluit op 19 april. De Duiveltjes worden uitgereikt tijdens de eerste editie van het Gala van de Popmuziek op woensdag 20 mei 2009 in de Rabozaal, de nieuwe zaal van de Melkweg in Amsterdam. De prijs bestaat – naast eeuwige roem – uit een grote door Peter te Bos (Claw Boys Claw) ontworpen medaille.

Vote 4 the KANE guys!

'Play the best song in the world, or I will eat your soul'. Who will this year be elected as ‘Duiveltjes’ from the Netherlands?
The ‘Duiveltjes’ are the annual music awards of the Muziek Centrum Nederland and will take place for the seventh time this year. Peculiar about this award is that the winner unlike other awards receives his/her award after votes from their fellow musicians and not by votes from a fan-audiance or a jury. There are six categories to vote: singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer, key-board player and dj/producer. Which means we can vote for all KANE guys - that is Joost, Ivo, Dennis and Mr. D - this year!. The award name ‘Duiveltje’ is a reference to the legend of bluesgitarist Robert Johnson, who sold his soul to the devil at the 'crossroads' and became the best guitarist of the world.
On the website www.popinstituut.nl/duiveltjes musicians can vote on their favourite fellow musicians. There can only be voted once. Votes must be in before the 19th of April. The Duiveltjes award show will be during the first edition of the Gala van de Popmuziek on wednesday the 20th of May at the Rabozaal, the New venue of the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The prize consists of – next to fame forever – a medallion created by Peter te Bos (Claw Boys Claw).

Gratis naar Paaspop

Via LiveXS kregen we het bericht dat ze tickets voor Paaspop 2009 wegschenken. En dat is weer interessant voor jullie want ook KANE staat dit jaar tussen de line-up van Paaspop te Schijndel. En hallo op deze maandag ochtend of… bijna middag! Wij zijn net terug van een lekker weekendje Lille en wat lezen we op de KANE hyves; KANE staat op 20 juni op het Indian Summer Festival. Alle info over dit festival is te vinden op indiansummerfestival.nl.
Mooier kan onze maandag ochtend bijna middag niet worden… of toch?!

Twitter is een 'microblog', waarin je met gebruik van max. 140 tekens de wereld info over jezelf mee kan geven. En no shit vanaf vandaag kan je KANE ook op Twitter vinden! Ze zagen gewoon dat wij ladies het zo gezellig en leuk hadden op twitter natuurlijk ;)

KANE YouTube

Sinds een aantal weken krijgen we mailtjes binnen KANE fans uit België, de UK, Spanje etc die een groot aantal KANE YouTube filmpjes niet kunnen bekijken en telkens de melding ‘this video is not available in your country’ moeten wegklikken. Leuk is anders. We kregen vanochtend reactie dat hier zo snel mogelijk een oplossing voor gezocht word zodat ook buitenlandse KANE fans kunnen genieten van deze filmpjes.

Wij willen ons verontschuldigen aan de fans die heden onze videos niet kunnen bekijken in hun thuisland. Dit probleem is jammer genoeg te wijten aan een een deal tussen onze platenmaatschappij Universal Music en Youtube die geldt voor al hun artiesten. Wij werken eraan om weer volledige toegang te krijgen tot de videos zodat al onze fans deze kunnen bekijken en vragen om het nodige geduld aan jullie kant tot deze kwestie opgelost is. Solving the problem

Over the past few weeks we received some emails from KANE fans from Belgium, the UK, Spain and such with complaint they weren’t able to view several KANE YouTube videos and got a ‘this video is not available in your country’ message. Not funny at all. This morning we got word this matter is being looked into so KANE fans from abroad will soon be able to view these videos as well.

We would like to apologise to fans who are currently unable to view our videos in their home countries. Unfortunately this problem has arisen from a deal made between our record company Universal Music and YouTube for all of their artists. We are working to get full access restored for all of our fans as soon as possible and until that time we ask you to be bear with us. Many thanks for your patience. KANE

KANE op Pukkelpop

We kregen een mail van de organisatie van Pukkelpop met volgende lieve vraag: Elk jaar polst Pukkelpop naar de favoriete acts van zijn bezoekers. Via een simpel invulformulier op de website kan je jouw favoriete acts voor Pukkelpop 2009 aan ons laten weten. Welke band heeft de meeste plays op je mp3-speler en zie je graag op een van onze podia? Op de tonen van welke dj’s wil jij over de Pukkelpopweide dartelen? KANE op Parkfeest

Gelezen op de site van Parkfeest Oosterhout:
Gistermiddag presenteerde de organisatie het programma van 5 en 6 juni. De programmering staat dit jaar weer als een huis. Grote namen zijn Kane, Beef en Clouseau. (…) Kane is de hoofdact op vrijdagavond. "Wij zijn echt apetrots dat ze na vijf jaar weer eens terug zijn bij ons in Oosterhout", vindt Neomagus. (…) De voorverkoop voor Parkfeest is op zondag 5 april in het Lukwellpark. Zondagmiddag speelt de band Glamourama en 's avonds staat Guus Meeuwis met volledige band op de planken. Deze concerten zijn gratis te bezoeken. De kaartverkoop begint om 9.00 uur. KANE staat op Parkfeest Oosterhout op vrijdag 5 juni om 22:30 op Podium 1. Voor meer info check www.parkfeest.nl.

Yesterday afternoon the line-up for the festival on the 5th and 6th of June was made public. The line-up is solid this year. Popular bands like Kane, Beef and Clouseau. (…) Kane is headliner on Friday night. "We’re very proud we have them bacj at our festival after five years", Neomagus comments. Update Dinand - WANNA SCREAM...OH YEAH!!!

Op de KANE hyves is vandaag een bericht van Dinand te vinden:
Zo dan!!! Woord uit Scheveningen city. Home of the.... ehm... Nou ja whatever. 't Is ook vlak bij het strand ha, ha. Hoe is het met je? Hier gaat het goed. Vol in de voorbereiding van nieuwe opnames die snel gaan komen. En nog maar 1 maand en dan opent het festivalseizoen weer. KANE komt naar je toe deze zomer. Dat is in ieder geval een feit. Festivals en zo waar een eigen gig op een wel hele leuke plek. Dat kan nooit lang duren voordat we dat naar buiten gaan brengen. Maar geloof me, daar wil je bij zijn.
Verder dus druk in de weer met opnameplanning en nieuwe tracks. Leuk om nu eens lekker hier te blijven ipv heel de tijd op en neer te crossen naar waar dan ook. We gaan terug naar de roots ha, ha. De eerste opnames zijn in april en we spelen met de gedachte om weer een aantal webcams neer te zetten en een opnamechat te openen.

Ok already!!! Word from Scheveningen city. Home of the.... ehm... Oh well whatever. It’s near the beach ha, ha. How is everything going? All is well at this end. We’re preparing for some New recordings that are on the agenda soon. And only one month to go and the festival season kicks off. KANE is coming to you this summer. That’s a fact. Festivals where we’ll do our own thing on a nice spot. Can’t take long and we’ll be getting stuff out. Trust me, you want to be a part of that.
Next to that we’re busy planning the recordings of the New tracks. It’s a nice thing to do it here instead of traveling up and down to wherever we need to be. We’re going back to the roots ha, ha. The first recordings are planed for April and we’re thinking of using some webcams and installing a webchat again.

De Haagse bands Golden Earring, Kane en Di-rect zijn enkele van de tientallen bekende Nederlanders en organisaties die zich hebben aangemeld als ambassadeur van SOS AlarmCard. Diverse bedrijven en personen zetten zich belangeloos in voor SOS AlarmCard en SOS AlarmVermist per SMS. Ze willen daarmee laten zien zich verbonden te voelen met deze hulpverlening en de noodzaak voor een Internationaal Alarm Informatie Systeem. (…)

KANE cares

A few bands from The Hague, the Netherlands, like Golden Earring, Kane and Di-rect are just a few of the many Dutch artists and organistions that voluntered to be ambassador for SOS AlarmCard. Several people and compagnies coöperate with SOS AlarmCard and SOS Alarm Missing by using text messages. By doing so they are getting more involved and want more attention for a International Alarm Information System. (…)
